The majority of visual communication students in Israel are learning video editing, motion graphics, and screen design using his online training system. Meet Frederick Van Johnson, a photography industry veteran with a dynamic career as a combat photojournalist, podcast founder and editor-in-chief, digital media and business professional. Frederick served two tours (8 years) in the United States Air Force, earning a prestigious Commendation and Achievement medals for his work. He later attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, studying Business and Visual Communication. After that, he worked at Yahoo!, Apple, and Adobe before becoming the Chairman of the Board at Brooks Institute of Photography and a strategy and marketing advisor for photography start-ups in Silicon Valley. In 2022, he sold TWiP to SmugMug and joined the company as a full-time Senior Manager for New Media and Editor-in-Chief for TWiP.

Dado Valentic has worked as a colorist and color scientist on major film and TV productions like Game of Thrones, Exodus, Sherlock Holmes, Marco Polo, Crazy Rich Asians, Mr. Nice, Total recall, Assassin, etc. His method of look design has been implemented in the plugin and stand-alone applications ‘Colourlab’ and ‘Look Designer’ responsible for the look creation of an estimated 50.000 TV shows, feature films and major commercials.
When he is not designing looks, he trains and consults Google, YouTube, Dolby, WB Studios, Univision, Comedy Central, HBO, CBS, Adobe, Activision, NBC Universal, Electronic Arts and Disney.

Dado not only works in the industry but also maintains a vast training program and online community. His training program was developed at the British Film Institute’s initiative and is now adopted by SMPTE and is considered the reference on the topics covered. Jeff Foster is an accomplished professional with 30+ years of experience in media production. Based in Northern California, he excels as an award-winning producer, published author, videographer/photographer, animator/editor, trainer, and aerial cinematographer. Jeff’s expertise spans traditional and digital images, video production, illustration, animation, motion graphics, and special effects. He is currently finalizing VFX work for an upcoming feature film. Elia Locardi is an acclaimed world travel photographer, keynote speaker, and experienced educator. He has developed a highly recognized style of photography that has been widely circulated in significant publications, including National Geographic, Elle, and Travel + Leisure. His work is frequently displayed in fine art galleries and venues worldwide.

Elia’s passion for photography and education has led him to work in over 70 countries and collaborate with major companies, countries, and tourism organizations worldwide. With over 20 years of experience in photography, production, and education, Elia has given more than 200 keynotes and lectures. He has spoken at venues including Photokina, Photo Plus Expo, InterBee, Visual Storytellers Conference, NAB, Post-production World, Adobe Max, B&H Optic, Fujifilm Festival, Gulf Photo Plus, Kelby Media, HIPA Dubai, National Geographic Aveiro Fest, and Xposure International Photography Festival. Angela Andrieux, Product Evangelist at Mylio, is a fine art photographer who loves helping others organize, edit, and protect their photos. The majority of images in her 92k+ collection feature landscapes, cityscapes, and family.

A certified instructor for Adobe and Apple, Rich is a practiced expert in motion graphic design and digital video. Starting his career out in the world of broadcast journalism, Rich has always had great interest in visual communications. His producing skills were also recognized by AV Video Multimedia Producer Magazine who named him as one of the Top Producers of 2004. 

Rich is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals Instructor Dream Team, and a popular speaker on the digital video circuit. He has been the Program Manager for the Post|Production World Conference since 2003.

Rich is an internationally published author. His book, Photoshop for Video, was the first of its kind to focus on Photoshop’s application in the world of video. He is also a contributing author for From Still to Motion, Video Made on a Mac, Final Cut Pro On the Spot and Professional Web Video. A Master’s Degree in Project Management fills out Rich’s broad spectrum of experience. Rich enjoys traveling and digital photography, as well as teaching his kids the joys of science fiction and comic books.

A pioneer in virtual production, Tom honed his expertise through the 2021 Unreal Engine Virtual Production fellowship by Epic Games. Currently a Virtual Production Producer and a leading solutions architect at the University of Southern California’s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC), he is deeply involved in a slate of films and series projects in development that represent the South Asian culture at a global scale. Tom also leads the documentation of insights from “Fathead,” driving the evolution of the field.

At NVIDIA, Ashlee specializes in emerging content creation workflows to help inform the Media & Entertainment Product Management process. Ashlee builds pipelines for content generation, demonstrates the latest advances in 3D Animation and VFX, where she trained in Technical Direction, Lighting, Shading, and Rendering. Ashlee has built multiple procedural generators – like The Scale Generator, the Knit Generator, and the brick generator (available on Substance Share) to help artists create unique materials for their 3D scenes. Most recently, Ashlee has taken an active role in generative AI using diffusion models to help guide the future of AI-assisted content creation.

Jason Schugardt is a Solutions Architect for NVIDIA helping customers connect to the best solutions at NVIDIA. With over 25 years of experience in the Visual Effects industry he has worked on numerous blockbuster films, including the Academy Award-winning The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, and Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report, and many others. Driven by his passion for exploring cutting-edge technology, he’s led innovative VR and AR projects, pushing the boundaries of technology in storytelling. As Business Development Manager for the Americas at Blackmagic Design, David
focuses his efforts on expanding the use of the creative tools for visual media
production. His passion for innovation and technology are paired with his respect for craft and storytelling.
David’s career spans over 25 years in visual arts and media production.
David started his professional journey in the early 1990’s as a documentary filmmaker working on various projects in and around the high performance military aircraft industry. The experience exposed him to the full gamut of the production workflow from cameras to post production.
David saw new and exciting prospects to visual storytelling through the emerging
computer aided production technologies in the mid 1990’s. He worked on industry
leading productions utilizing advanced composting and green screen technology in both broadcast and motion picture pre-visualization while working for Discreet Logic, later Autodesk Media & Entertainment.
In the early 2000’s David was the project lead on the implementation of real-time
graphics technology at CNBC and later NBCU, where in 2008 the use of fully immersive virtual set production was highlighted by NBC News coverage of the Presidential
Election.
David established his own technology and production company in 2010 and worked to provide the real time visual effect technologies he had help pioneer at the studio and network levels to a broader audience of users. He continued to innovate techniques and technologies in the virtual production market leading up to his current role with
Blackmagic Design.
